We started this idea in 2003. An idea we copied from the ZNA All Japan Show, where each year a specific variety (not classification) is selected for special honours.
The ZNA have used this award to successfully promote rare or out of favour varieties for many years. We have found that it works in the UK too.
Last year the ZNA chose to feature the Kinginrin.
show class as opposed to an individual variety. We have chosen to follow suit this year, but with an adaptation of our own.
We will be awarding Two 1st prizes, and an runner-up - instead of the traditional 1st, 2nd & 3rd.
A 1st for the best Kinginrin Go-Sanke
A 1st for the best Kinginrin non Go-Sanke
and a runner-up for the next best Kinginrin irregardless of variety.
